- This policy is the single, shared cookie text for Hemgaard’s website (hemgaard.com) and online shop (shop.hemgaard.com).
- Essential cookies are needed to run the site and are used without consent. All other cookies run only with your consent.

1. What this policy covers
This policy explains which cookies we use on our sites, why and for how long, and how you can manage your preferences. It has been prepared in line with Article 10 of the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (“KVKK”), the Communiqué on the Duty to Inform and the Personal Data Protection Authority’s Guide on Cookie Practices.
It is published with identical content at hemgaard.com/en/cookies and on our shop’s Cookie Policy page. Our processing of personal data other than through cookies is described in our Privacy and KVKK Policy.

2. What is a cookie?
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser or device when you visit a site. They help the site remember you when you return, keep your cart, or understand how the site is used. In this policy we also refer to pixels, local storage and similar technologies as “cookies”.
We classify cookies in three ways:
- By who sets them: first-party cookies (set by the site you are visiting) and third-party cookies (set by another company, such as an advertising or analytics provider).
- By how long they last: session cookies (deleted when you close the browser) and persistent cookies (stay on your device for a set period).
- By purpose: essential, functional, analytics and marketing cookies (section 3).
3. Types of cookies we use
- Essential cookies: needed to remember your cart, process payment, sign in, save your cookie choice and protect the site against misuse. They are used without consent because they are necessary to provide the service you request (KVKK Art. 5/2-c and 5/2-f). If you turn them off, the site may not work properly.
- Functional cookies: remember preferences such as language and country. Used only with your consent.
- Analytics cookies: help us understand how our sites are used and improve them, for example which pages are read and how long visitors stay. Used only with your explicit consent (KVKK Art. 5/1).
- Marketing cookies: used to show ads that match your interests and to measure campaign results; they may let our advertising partners recognise you on other sites. Used only with your explicit consent (KVKK Art. 5/1).

The table shows the main cookies used on our sites. The current, complete list is available in the cookie preferences panel on our sites. If we start using a new type of cookie, we will update this policy.
5. How we ask for consent
When you first visit our sites you see a cookie banner. No cookies other than essential ones run until you consent. Continuing to use the site does not by itself mean consent.
- On hemgaard.com the banner offers two options: “Accept” and “Reject”.
- On shop.hemgaard.com you can accept all, reject all or choose by category.
Your choice is stored for 12 months. After that, you will be asked again.
6. How to change your choice
- On our sites: you can change or withdraw your consent at any time via the “Cookie preferences” link at the bottom of every page. When you withdraw consent, the related cookies stop working from the next page load.
- In your browser: you can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, features such as the cart and checkout may not work.

7. International transfers
Data collected through analytics and marketing cookies may be processed on the servers abroad of the companies that provide those cookies. These transfers happen only if you consent to the relevant cookie category and in line with Article 9 of the KVKK. Data collected through essential cookies may be transferred as described in section 9 of our Privacy and KVKK Policy, to fulfil your order and service.
8. What cookies do not store
Our cookies do not store your card number, password, health information or similar sensitive information. Cookie data is used only for the purpose of the relevant cookie and is never sold.
9. Your rights

10. Changes
